Welcome
As a Marriage and Family Therapist I provide a supportive and compassionate environment to assist you in meeting life's challenges whether they are related to health issues, problems at home, school, or work. Together we will design a plan to make positive changes in your daily life so you can achieve your life goals and improve your relationships.
About Me
I received a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University and a PhD from the University of Georgia. I have been in practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1998. Since 2001, I have been training and supervising masters and doctoral level MFT students at accredited universities.
About My Practice
I provide brief therapy for individuals, couples, and families experiencing a variety of problems such as adjustment to stressful life events, depression, anxiety, and marital distress. My specialty includes working with families experiencing stressful family transitions like marriage, childbirth, launching adult children, divorce, and remarriage.
My theoretical orientation is systemic and I use several therapeutic models such as Solution Focused, Strategic, and Cognitive Behavioral. Extensive training in Ericksonian hypnosis allows me to utilize hypnosis if it is indicated. Furthermore, my training and experience with mindfulness meditation means that I am able to help clients successfully incorporate it into their life. My belief is that clients know what is best for them so I tend to work collaboratively to ensure clients are experiencing the changes they desire for themselves.
